So grab your popcorn and get ready to see how well you know the ins and outs of the world of cinema!

1. The famous shower scene in the classic horror film “Psycho” was shot using chocolate syrup as the blood. The effect was so convincing that the movie was initially banned in several countries for being too graphic.

2. The iconic role of Marty McFly in the “Back to the Future” trilogy was originally played by actor Eric Stoltz. However, after several weeks of filming, director Robert Zemeckis decided Stoltz wasn’t right for the role and recast the part with Michael J. Fox. The rest, as they say, is history.

3. In the movie “The Wizard of Oz,” the horse that played the part of the horse of a different color was actually colored with Jell-O powder. The horse had to be licked clean after each scene, as it wasn’t safe for him to ingest the dye.

4. During the filming of “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, actor Viggo Mortensen broke two toes while filming a scene where he kicks a helmet. Instead of stopping filming, he continued with the scene and the take that made it into the final cut of the film was the one where he actually broke his toes.

5. In the movie “Titanic,” Leonardo DiCaprio’s character Jack utters the famous line, “I’m the king of the world!” This line was actually improvised by DiCaprio during filming and was not in the original script. Director James Cameron liked it so much that he chose to include it in the final cut of the film.

6. The decision to cast Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump in the movie of the same name almost didn’t happen. The role was initially offered to John Travolta, but he turned it down. Hanks went on to win an Academy Award for his performance in the film.

7. During the filming of “The Dark Knight,” actor Heath Ledger fully immersed himself in the role of the Joker. He spent months perfecting the character’s iconic voice and laugh, and even kept a journal in which he wrote as the Joker to get into character. Ledger posthumously won an Academy Award for his haunting portrayal of the character.

8. In the movie “Grease,” the role of Danny Zuko was initially offered to Henry Winkler, but he turned it down. The role then went to John Travolta, who went on to become one of the biggest stars in Hollywood after the massive success of the film.

9. The famous scene in “Pulp Fiction” where John Travolta’s character accidentally shoots Marvin in the face was not supposed to happen. The gun was not supposed to go off, but it malfunctioned during filming. Director Quentin Tarantino liked the unexpectedness of the scene and chose to keep it in the final cut of the film.

10. In the movie “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,” the sound effects for E.T.’s voice were created by sound designer Ben Burtt using a mix of animal noises, including raccoon, sea otter, and walrus. The result is the iconic and endearing voice of one of the most beloved movie characters of all time.
